The German Shepherd should be in good physical shape, clean, well-groomed, nails clipped, and good coat. He or she requires no trimming or primping to make them ready to show, as do the representatives of so many other breeds. This breed will be shown as nature made them.
The dogs are divided into classes according to age and sex. The show ring is for you to present your dog. Every German Shepherd shown becomes a representative of the breed in the eyes of the spectators. Inside the ring the judges will evaluate your dog. It is the responsibility of the judge to use his or her vast knowledge to evaluate each dog against the written standard. Conformation is viewed and enjoyed on television. Many people are privileged to attend a Sieger Show, Crufts, or Westminster dog show to cheer their favorite dog to the top. Rock Shadow Shepherds enjoys attending and competing in the Sieger Shows. This is truly a high point, especially when you and your dog are competing with so many remarkable, worthy German Shepherds. |
